2012 FESTIVITIES

JANUARY.

* Parade of floats for the thee Kings festivity (5th January). In Moraira and Teulada, Their Majesties the Three Kings from the East bring joy to children and adults alike.

* Sant Antoni Festivity (20th to 22nd). Bonfires and pet's blessing. Old Town from Teulada

FEBRUARY.

* The Festival of San Blas (3rd) . In Teulada, the tasting of the "Dama" (a cake "Pan Quemado" in the shape of male and female silhouettes)

* Carnival (From 24th to 26th) : Fancy dress parade, "enfarinada" (flour-game) and "enterro de la sardina" ( the "funeral of the sardine"). In Teulada and Moraira
Saturday 25th: Great Carnival Party. Town Hall square, Teulada.

APRIL:

* Holy Week ( From the 1st to the 9th)
In Moraira;  5th;Maundy Thursday (23h)Silent Procession.
In Teulada; 1st;Palm Sunday.
                  6th;Good Friday (19h),Holy Burrial.
                  8th;Easter Sunday "L' Encontre"Procession. 

* Local Fiestas of Teulada In honour of Saint Vicente Ferrer.(From 12th to 22nd) Amongst the many functions, the most appreciated is the Monday Procession of San Vicente, when all "Teuladinos " and many visitors participate enthusiastically . Spectacular fireworks, on the Monday and Tuesday, the floats on the Sunday as well as the bull running are much enjoyed.

JUNE:

* Corpus Cristi ( Sunday 10th) Holy Communions in Moraira. Evening Procession with traditional rites and dances in Teulada.

* Moors and Christians (13th to the 17th) In Moraira. Spectacular night-time landing on the beach of l'Ampolla, Flower ofering, Firing of blunderbusses and a magnificent procession, the Sunday Gala, at 5 o'clock in the evening.

* 23rd. Magical night of San Juan. Tradicional dancing round bonfires, waiting for the flames to die down for the traditional leaping over the embers.....(In Moraira, at the beach of l'Ampolla and in the Town Hall Square in Teulada). On this same magical night folklore dictates that it is the most propitious time to cleanse the body and spirit by bathing in the sea at midnight, and to reveal the zealously guarded secrets of traditional remedies.

JULY

* First weekend (Variable). Fiestas of Font Santa, in the chapel of the same name, organised by the "quintos" of the year. Nighttime fiesta and bulls running

* Local Festivities of Moraira(July 12th to 22nd), " Mare de Deu del Desamparats" and " Mare de Deu del Carne. Nighttime fiestas, processions, culminating in the maritime procession on the 16th, fireworks and "Els Bous a la Mar"

* Fiestas of Benimarco (23rd to 29th) Nighttime fiesta, bulls running and fireworks.

* Fiestas of "Els Sants de la Pedra" (27th to 2nd of August) In calle Calvo Sotelo supper in the street, Mass Campaña, nighttime fiesta, bulls running

AUGUST

* Medieval Fiesta and Market ( variable - Weekend before 15th of August) Handicrafts, traditional products, juggling and theatre, recreating a mediaeval atmosphere in the ancient centre of Teulada.

* Fiesta of "Moscatel" Teulada (Saturday 18th). A special celebration for the farmers, at the completion of their harvest and the collection of the Moscatel grape which is sent to markets nationwide. Nighttime fiesta, tasting of the Moscatel, . In the Avenida las Palmas.

SEPTEMBER

* Fiesta of "Divina Pastora" (Variable). Traditional dances an music. In Teulada

NOVEMBER

* Festival of Santa Cecilia ( variable ) In Teulada, the Agrupacaión Musical Cultural celebrate their patron saint with an extensive programme of concerts and parades through the streets, where music lovers can participate.

* Fiesta of Santa Catalina (23rd to 25th ). In Teulada. throughout the week, many cultural activities, culminating with the Sunday Procession.

DECEMBER

* Christmas Market (Variable),  in the square of the Ayuntamiento, in Teulada. Market of typical Christmas products and bric-a-brac

* 9th Local Trade Fair. (Variable).In Moraira.Parking Area, moraira.
